Filmmaking Fundamentals is a one-day, four-hour workshop created for beginners and developing filmmakers.
The workshop combines guided instruction with practical demonstrations, collaborative exercises, camera work, lighting activities, and opportunities to film together.
Instructor Britt introduces the major stages of filmmaking before guiding participants through visual storytelling, camera placement, lighting, sound, scene coverage, directing actors, and post-production.
Activities begin with approachable filmmaking concepts and gradually build throughout the workshop, helping participants understand how creative and technical decisions behind the camera shape the final story.
There is no homework, no required preparation, and no expectation that you arrive with a completed film or concept. The focus is on understanding the filmmaking process, practicing practical tools, and gaining the confidence to begin creating or improving your own projects.
No previous filmmaking experience or preparation is needed. Just bring yourself and come ready to learn, experiment, and create in a supportive environment.

“I’m new to content creation and wanted it to be a creative outlet or maybe even a side hustle down the road. My problem was I didn’t know how to actually film anything, and just copying what I saw online never looked or felt right.
This filmmaking workshop helped me realize copying what others are doing wasn’t the answer. What I really needed to do was find my own voice. I left with real clarity on my goals and how to tell better stories visually.”
— Lori O., Content Creator & Filmmaking Workshop Student
